Security at busontop

Last updated: 18 June 2026

This page explains how busontop keeps your information safe when you make a top up bus card payment for an Abu Dhabi hafilat card.

Encryption and transport security

All communication between your device and this website is encrypted using TLS (Transport Layer Security). You can see the padlock icon in your browser address bar to confirm a secure connection.

Payment card data

We do not store full payment card numbers on this website. Card details are sent directly to an authorised payment processor over an encrypted connection. We only store the last few digits and the authorisation status, which we need to match a top-up to your confirmation.

Hafilat card number

The 10-digit hafilat card reference you enter is stored in order to match it with the top-up request. This number is not secret — it is printed on the front of the card — so its storage does not pose a security risk.

Data retention

We keep information only as long as needed, then delete or anonymise it. See the Privacy policy for details.

PCI DSS compliance

Where we store or transmit payment card data, we follow PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) principles. We do not validate against specific DSS levels — such claims are unhelpful.
